First all-female spacewalk

NASA astronauts Christina Koch and Jessica Meir has created history high above Earth on 18th October 2019 with first all-female spacewalk. Before this, women’s already did the spacewalks but with male astronauts.

Christina Koch and Jessica Meir need to replace an old battery charger for one of the three new batteries that was installed last week by Christina Koch and Andrew Morgan.

It’s a spacewalking debut of Jessica Meir which made her the 228th person in the world to conduct a spacewalk and the 15th woman.

It was the fourth spacewalk for Christina Koch.

Christina Koch had been scheduled to conduct the first all-female spacewalk with Anne McClain in March, but the two astronauts both required medium-size suits, and there was only one available.
